Insulation resistance measurement
Insulation measurement ensures the safety of electrical installations by checking the resistance of the insulators. Over time, these insulators degrade, increasing leakage currents and the risk of incidents. Two tests exist: the dielectric test, which evaluates resistance to surges, and the non-destructive insulation resistance measurement, used to monitor the condition of the insulators. Preventive maintenance relies on these measurements to detect signs of aging. Insulation can deteriorate due to environmental and mechanical factors. Regular monitoring prevents failures and optimizes the lifespan of equipment.
